Maternal Mental Health Matters
A special Maternal Mental Health Awareness event with PANDAS Foundation at MOME London.
Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week is dedicated to raising awareness, breaking stigma, and encouraging conversations around the emotional wellbeing of parents during pregnancy and early parenthood. It’s a time to highlight the importance of accessible support, community connection, and reminding families that they are never alone in their experiences.
At iCandy, we believe in creating spaces where parents feel seen, supported, and connected. That’s why we were proud to host a special Maternal Mental Health Awareness event in partnership with PANDAS Foundation. With the aim of bringing together parents, little ones, and a supportive community for an afternoon focused on conversation, care, and connection.
Creating Space for Real Conversations
The event welcomed families into a warm and relaxed environment at MOME London where parents could take a moment for themselves, connect with others, and engage in open conversations around maternal mental health. From shared experiences to supportive discussions, the atmosphere reminded everyone attending that no parent should ever feel alone.
In Partnership with PANDAS Foundation
We were honoured to collaborate with PANDAS Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting families through perinatal mental health challenges. Guests heard an insightful and empowering talk from the organisation, highlighting the importance of recognising maternal mental health struggles and sharing vital support resources available to parents.
The session encouraged honest conversations around perinatal mental health while helping to break down stigma and remind parents that asking for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Support for Parents, Fun for Little Ones
While parents listened, connected, and took time to focus on their wellbeing, little ones enjoyed two hours of free soft play in a safe and engaging environment. The event was designed to feel family-friendly and welcoming, allowing parents to relax knowing their children were also having fun.
Good Food and Good Company
Alongside meaningful conversations, guests enjoyed complimentary food, connected with fellow parents, and received thoughtful goody bags to take home. It was a chance to slow down, meet others in the community, and spend time in a supportive and uplifting atmosphere.
Why Events Like This Matter
Maternal mental health can affect anyone, regardless of background or experience. Feelings of anxiety, loneliness, or depression are more common than many people realise and support can make all the difference.
Events like this help build awareness, encourage connection, and remind parents that help is available. By creating spaces where honest conversations can happen openly and without judgement, communities can play an important role in supporting families through every stage of parenthood.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and to PANDAS Foundation for helping us create such a meaningful event. Together, we can continue raising awareness and ensuring that no parent feels alone.
