Company: iCandy World Ltd

iCandy World Ltd is an award-winning British pushchair brand, celebrated for its innovation, craftsmanship, and timeless design. Every iCandy product is created with meticulous attention to detail — combining functionality, style, and sustainability to deliver an exceptional experience for families.

We are seeking a Structural Packaging Designer to join our design-led team and play a key role in shaping how our customers first encounter our products.

The Role

This part-time position focuses exclusively on the structural design and engineering of both internal and external packaging for our premium pushchairs and accessories. You’ll be responsible for developing and refining packaging solutions that ensure product protection, enhance the unboxing experience, and support sustainability goals.

You’ll work closely with our branding, operations, and supply chain teams — contributing your structural expertise to ensure our packaging is practical, efficient, and beautifully aligned with the iCandy brand. The role does not include visual artwork or graphic design; these elements are handled by our branding team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structural Design & Development: Create and develop structural packaging concepts and prototypes that protect products during transit and elevate the customer unboxing experience.
  • Testing Support: Assist with or coordinate packaging validation (e.g. drop, vibration, and compression testing) to ensure durability and compliance.
  • Sustainability: Recommend recyclable or sustainable materials, supporting iCandy’s sustainability and compliance objectives (EPR, Plastic Packaging Tax).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure packaging structures integrate seamlessly with artwork, labelling, and production requirements.
  • Optimisation: Support improvements in material efficiency, palletisation, and logistics performance to reduce cost and waste.

About You

  • Proven experience in structural packaging design for consumer products.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD tools (e.g. ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of board materials, corrugates, and production processes.
  • Familiarity with packaging testing and sustainability standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with a practical, problem-solving mindset.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaborating across teams.
  • Experience of liaising with Chinese manufacturers would be beneficial

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work with one of the UK’s leading premium nursery brands.
  • A supportive, design-led culture that values quality and innovation.
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact on both customer experience and sustainability.
