Choosing a newborn pram or pushchair

A newborn pram or pushchair is suitable from birth when used with a carrycot or a seat specifically designed for newborns. The right choice combines comfort for your baby with practical features that suit your everyday life, from your first neighbourhood walks to journeys further afield.

The iCandy newborn collection brings together beautifully crafted designs with different ways to travel from day one. Consider whether you would prefer a dedicated carrycot, a compact stroller with a newborn-suitable lie-flat seat, or a pushchair that can accommodate another child as your family grows.

Explore iCandy pushchairs suitable from birth

  • iCandy Peach 8: A luxury convertible pushchair with a collapsible newborn carrycot and the flexibility to become a double or twin.
  • iCandy Core 2: A premium single pushchair available with a fleece-lined carrycot for your baby’s earliest months.
  • iCandy Orange 4: An adaptable pushchair with a newborn carrycot and single-to-double functionality.
  • iCandy Pip: A compact stroller with a lie-flat seat suitable from birth, offering an alternative to a separate carrycot.

Newborn prams and travel systems

A pram with a carrycot provides a dedicated space for your newborn to lie flat. A travel system adds the option of attaching a compatible infant car seat to the pushchair chassis using the correct adaptors. When comparing bundles, check which carrycot, car seat and accessories are included so you can choose the setup that suits your family.

Does every reclining pushchair seat suit a newborn?

No. A reclining seat is only suitable from birth if the manufacturer specifically confirms newborn suitability. Check the individual model’s specifications and instructions rather than relying on the appearance of the recline.

Can I use a newborn pushchair without a carrycot?

Yes, if the pushchair has a seat specifically suitable from birth. The iCandy Pip offers a newborn-suitable lie-flat seat without requiring a separate carrycot.

Can a newborn pram grow with my family?

Yes. The iCandy Peach 8 and Orange 4 can accommodate changing family needs through compatible single, double and twin configurations. The additional components required depend on the model and chosen setup.
