We are currently looking for a Head of QA/QC for baby products to join our team

The Head of QA/QC is a strategic leadership role responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system for the manufacturing, and distribution of baby goods. This role ensures that all products meet quality standards, thereby safeguarding customer satisfaction, brand reputation.

Reports To: The role reports directly to the General Manager – China with a functional reporting relationship to the UK Head of Product Management for matters related to product strategy and process alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute the overall QA/QC strategy aligned with company goals and industry standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the QA/QC team to foster a culture of quality excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, R&D) to embed quality into product development and production processes.
  • Form strong working relationships with our Tier 1 factory partners
  • Work closely with the UK product management team and align key strategies
  • The candidate will have full authority to immediately halt the production line or shipment if they identify a quality issue or non‑conformance.

Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the company's QMS.
  • Develop and implement quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and good working practices.

Supplier & Material Quality

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Tier 2 suppliers to ensure raw materials and components meet quality specifications.
  • Actively involved in performance monitoring programs.

Quality Inspection & Testing

  • Oversee incoming material inspections (IQC), in-line inspections, and finished goods inspections (FQC).
  • Utilize quality tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma or similar.

Continuous Improvement & Problem Resolution

  • Lead initiatives for continuous quality improvement.
  • Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and returned products; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAP).
  • Monitor key quality metrics and report on quality performance to leadership.

Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Maintain comprehensive records of inspections at all levels,
  • Collect, record and report data. Compile data into meaningful Measures and KPI’s

Training & Development

  • Provide ongoing training to staff and suppliers on quality policies, procedures.
  • Promote a quality-first mindset throughout the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in QA/QC management within Asia
  • Working knowledge of industry safety standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and software (e.g., QMS software, SPC).


Essential Skills & Attributes:

  • Fluency in both English and Mandarin
  • Experience with risk management and hazard analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams across our supply base
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Should be able to communicate critical quality updates to senior stakeholders, facilitating two-way dialogue.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid environment. Daily visits to our manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and offices

This position involves travel as part of your responsibilities.
