iCandy | EST. 1933 | LONDON Every Component, Every Curve, Every Detail. Business at iCandy is a family affair. Whilst the company was established in 1933 brothers Bradley and Warren Appel joined the company in the 1970's. By the eighties the business was making children's cycle helmets and car safety seats, before developing a range of widely sold nursery products. In order to reach for the stars, the Appel brothers realised they had to channel their innovative thinking and demand for the highest quality down a niche route. In 2005 they decided they wanted to create something special – a single-to-double pushchair on a single footprint under a new label called iCandy. Two years later the Apple pushchair rolled out, feeling unlike anything else on the market. The iCandy recipe for innovation - British craftsmanship and no limits. One of the key differences with an iCandy product is the use of aeronautical technology. The standard of engineering and luxurious level of material rival that of a plane, not a pushchair. The results are seen and felt in effortless performance. The fluidity of movement and smooth handling from the first touch are the result of master engineering. We've made the ride for baby seamless, safe and deliriously comfortable, and the experience for you a pure pleasure. Just as important as the design is the look - the look of luxury, modernity and style. iCandy pushchairs are designed in the UK to ensure absolute perfection and unrivalled style. When you choose an iCandy, you’re not just buying a pushchair – you’re guaranteeing the utmost in quality, safety and functionality for your child and your family. It’s taken many years of advanced development and relentless testing for us to get where we are today. It goes without saying that great design is nothing without quality. The engineering of our pushchairs is more in line with aeronautical design than that of a traditional pushchair. Our strong, lightweight aluminium frames with iconic styling set us apart from the competition. Our rigorous testing programme ensures that every component is built to last. It’s this attention to detail that makes iCandy pushchairs the safest and most comfortable pushchairs in the world - offering you the ultimate peace of mind that you’re giving your child the best start in life. In 2016, following consistent excellence in design and significant exports over a number of years, Her Majesty The Queen was graciously pleased to approve the Prime Minister’s recommendation that iCandy should receive a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade. The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade is the UK’s most respected award for business performance and acknowledges iCandy’s exemplary engineering ingenuity. Two years later in 2018, a second Queen’s Award, this time the prestigious Queen’s Award for Innovation, was bestowed upon iCandy in recognition of the company’s outstanding contribution to contemporary British product design and engineering. The honour of two Queen’s Awards underlines iCandy’s commitment to crafting the very best products and is an acknowledgement of the exquisite British design and sleek functionality at the heart of the brand. Crafting luxury pushchairs which exemplify quality, innovation and design has always formed the core principles of the iCandy brand. However, as a family run business, we understand that our responsibilities extend beyond simply creating exceptional and stylish pushchairs. We take responsibility for looking after the well-being of families throughout their parenting journey and strive to give something back to the community. Since 2016, it has been a great privilege to support Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, a cause very close to our hearts. At the start of the partnership with GOSH, iCandy pledged to raise £100,000 towards the development of a brand-new enclosed isolation recovery bay at the hospital- crucial for children who need a dedicated space to recover following an operation. At the end of our first year of partnership with GOSH we were extremely proud to have reached £55,000 thanks to fantastic efforts by iCandy staff and customers. From skydives to triathlons, impressive physical challenges were undertaken by members of the iCandy team. The auction of limited edition iCandy pushchairs and customer donations at the checkout also helped significantly towards the incredible fundraising feat. When the £100,000 target was met, CEO’s Bradley and Warren visited GOSH to share the brilliant news. The figure has continued to rise ever since thanks to the ongoing donation of proceeds from iCandy’s eBay site as well as the donation of £10 from every sale of the iCandy Peach in Dove Grey. Our passion, sweat and tears go in to our every creation, until we’re certain it enhances each life it touches.
