iCandy is a luxury manufacturer of Pushchairs and associated accessories, sold in the UK through a network of independent stockist’s, and National retailers, we are also sold globally through our Distributors and direct relationships.
The purchasing manager is a pivotal role working closely with our CEO’s, MD and stakeholders across the business.
The role covers 2 main functions.
Direct Purchasing –
Buying of all iCandy products from our suppliers in the Far East, including raising purchase orders, and responding to daily queries and issues via teams and email, Regular contact with our production manager.
Monthly forecasting of products, and reporting back to the business on recommendations for ordering, issues with slow moving lines, and flag any items at risk of selling out.
Producing various weekly reports regarding availability, for internal and external customers.
Work with exec on new product launches and releases, including admin of system item set up, and assigning barcodes and serial numbers, from initial order raising, and planning of future production through to launch into the UK, ensuring our Marketing and PR teams are kept up to date.
Work with factories and container shippers to facilitate the delivery and clearance through customs of our products and ensure all information provided to ensure accurate charging of duties and taxes etc.
Liaise with our warehouse operations manager with regards to delivery and ensure we keep our stock as lean as possible to ensure maximizing space, but also keeping withing the boundaries of mass production and MOQ purchasing.
Indirect Purchasing
All facilities purchasing included but not limited to the following.
Business insurances including Fleet, life, IT, Travel.
Car leasing
Courier contracts
Container shipping
Mobile phones, including Telephone and internet
Airconditioning
Energy
Cleaning
Packaging
External storage
Travel including flights, accommodation, transfers, parking, rail etc
Group Haulge
Exhibition space, stand build, associated show costs including promotional items and uniform
Printing, marketing
Waste and recycling, including annual reporting of plastics and card on behalf of environment agency.
Snack and drinks machine
Stationary and incidentals buying from Amazon etc.
Ad Hoc projects
No two days are the same and the needs of the business can change along with the priority, you will need to be agile and able to pick up and run with ad hoc requests alongside your standard tasks.
Projects arise with new customer relationships and the Purchasing manager role supports many departments within the business.
Additional Duties
Manage product pricing, track costs and review and store bill of materials.
Run costings on products and track margins and profit, report to the exec team.
Manage the pricing for all customers, including producing price lists and updating the ordering system with correct pricing.
Support the sales team and Web sales with promotional pricing and annual sales including Black Friday, January sale, and various ad hoc promotions and sales.
Suggest items for promotions and for our outlet section of our website.
Produce qtrly costings report and present to the exec alongside our finance team.
Complete import declarations with Trader Support Services for deliveries into Ireland.
Checking and sign off of all supplier invoices.
