World Kindness Day

13th November marks World Kindness Day which aims to serve as a reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. It is an international day that began in 1998, to promote kindness throughout the world and is observed annually on November 13 as part of the World Kindness Movement.

So whether it is being kind to yourself or being kind to others, at iCandy we have put together a few ideas on how to spread a little love.

Be Kind to Yourself

As well as being kind to others it’s just as important to take care of yourself. While taking care of your new baby is your absolute priority as a new mum or dad, if your cup is empty, there won’t be anything left to give. This is why it’s just as important to fill up your own cup with rest, compassion and kindness, so you can support and care for your new baby as best you can. Hypnotherapist, coach and mentor Chloe Brotheridge has shared five key ways you can nourish and support your mental health as a new mum.

Give a Special Gift

A gift from iCandy might be the perfect way to let someone know you are thinking of them and their new arrival and with Christmas fast approaching what could be better than a stylish gift from iCandy. From a sumptuous cocoon style footmuff and liner, to a luxury rucksack that is so much more than just a changing bag, iCandy has something the whole family will love this year.

Make Something Personal

Kindness doesn’t have to be in the form of a grand gesture, something as simple as baking a delicious cake for someone is certain to bring a smile. Whether you know someone who has just welcomed a new baby and is need of some energy or your neighbour could do with a boost then check out the banana and mini egg cake recipe shared previously by our iCandy mum and influencer Rose.

Make a Charity Donation

iCandy continually raises funds to help GOSH towards supporting its patients and their families and to continue its life-saving care, as well as maintain its position as the UK’s largest dedicated funder of child health research. If you have anything to spare then please consider making a donation to GOSH via iCandy’s Just Giving page.
