iCandy support Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity raises money to enable the hospital to provide world class care and to pioneer new treatments and cures for childhood illnesses. iCandy have chosen to support the charity and are planning to raise £100,000 to fund an enclosed isolation recovery bay. Each individual bay is designed reduce the risk of cross-infection and enable staff to closely observe each patient’s condition, providing quick access to a child in case of emergency.

GOSH has existed since 1852, becoming the first hospital in the UK looking specifically after children. Since opening its doors with 10 beds, demand has increased so much that the hospital now deals with over 255,000 patient visits every year. It deals with over 50 paediatric specialties and because children are usually referred by other hospitals, GOSH is often a place of last resort.

There are 4 main areas that the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity funds in support of the hospital:

  • Redevelopment – replacing & renovating existing buildings to make them equipped for the 21st century
  • Equipment – purchasing & replacing life-saving equipment
  • Research – funding research into new treatments and cures
  • Family & patient support – ensuring the needs of the families & patients at their most vulnerable time are met, such as providing family accommodation

GOSH is a place where amazing things happen every day and the patients are put at the heart of everything.

iCandy are taking part in various fundraising activities to reach their £100,000 target. You can support their partnership with GOSH by making your donation here.
