"I thought the shades looked really professional in the packaging and the design using magnets, I thought was very clever. I love that these shades can be adjusted to the size of the window, but that they market themselves for being for an SUV, therefore allowing the purchaser to consider the size before making the purchase. The shades provided a good shield from the sun, although there are some small gaps, these did not seem to negatively impact little one during the journey. The magnet holders initially seemed to me to be clunky, however once the product was installed I felt these looked fine and the shades enabled little one to look outside during the car journey, while still being protected from the sun."

"The Brica magnetic shade was easy to put up on the window and we were able to adjust it to fit our window. It isn't an attractive shade and does not immediately grab your attention, however it is very functional and does the job. I think that the use of magnets is really clever to ensure that the shade does not fall off on a journey. Our little one was shielded from the bright sunshine when travelling and we never had to worry about it falling off. It is easy to stick onto the window frame and doesn’t leave any sticky marks like some of the other window shades. We were also able to roll down the window with the sun shade still on."

"I was very curious when I received the magnetic car shade about how it would actually work. It arrived in a small standard box and had a helpful guide inside. Once I managed to get the magnets apart (and not stuck to each other) it was very easy to stick to the window and adjust to fit. The guide also explains how to use the magnets for each car window type as the magnetic part of the window may be in different places. The hooks around each corner make it very easy to fit to your window and stretch as required."

Would you recommend the Munchkin Magnetic Stretch-to-Fit Sun Shade?

Yes - my favourite feature of these shades are that they are adjustable, which is really useful. I feel that the price is the higher end of the scale for sun shades and therefore would expect that they would be able to be more versatile. The shades provide a good coverage in terms of shielding from the sun, which is essential as the purpose of the product. Due to these positive features of the shades, I would recommend this to other parents to help shield their little one from the sun, but also be able to see outside of the shades during car journeys too.

Yes - we would recommend the Brica by Munchkin Magnetic Stretch-to-Fit Sun Shade if parents are looking for a simple to put up and functional sun shade to protect their little ones from the sun. We did not love that it was black, however, it worked well to keep our little one protected and we never had to worry about it falling off on a journey. We were very impressed with how it sticks to the window frame with magnets. It is on the more expensive side for sun shades, however it is well worth the purchase.

Yes, I would recommend to other parents. Whilst you may need an extra hand initially to get the shade in position I really liked the ease of the magnets and the flexibility with the hooks to adjust the shade to fit all different car windows. Being able to put the window down on hot days with the shade still staying in place is another excellent feature which makes the shade stand out from others!

Whilst our review panel was unanimous in their feedback that this is not the most visually pleasing sunshade, they did all agree that it ticks the boxes in terms of functionality. The clear instructions ensured the installation process was straight forward for all, with the shade adapting well to the different sized car windows of our testers. The option to adjust the sunshade and the freedom to still be able to open the car window with the shade in use were both big hits with our testers. The higher price point for just one shade was the only thing that let this sunshade down.
