The Commonwealth will be united in enjoying the Queen’s official birthday celebrations this weekend.Today marks the annual Trooping the Colour brigade, where more than 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians will come together to commemorate Queens Elizabeth’s 90th Birthday
The parade route commences at Buckingham Palace and journeys along The Mall, to Horse Guards Parade, through Whitehall, and then back again. The event has become known as the Queen's birthday parade. It has become extremely popular with spectators, who will often crowd the streets well before 9am. The march is a very regal affair, a homage to British tradition, the iCandy Peach in Royal would not look out of place during the celebrations. Trooping the Colour was originally a military tradition which dates back to the 1700s. The troops taking part in the parade are fully trained, operational units from the Household Division. The display typically closes with an RAF fly-past, watched by members of the Royal Family from the Buckingham Palace balcony.
iCandy will have the honour of visiting Buckingham Palace next month, when our two CEO’s Bradley and Warren Appel will have the distinction of accepting The Queens Award for Enterprise. The invitation has now arrived and the 14th July will be an opportunity for iCandy to reflect on this monumental achievement.
The Queens Award is the UK’s highest business accolade and the one to be extremely proud of. iCandy look forward to once more celebrating the long serving Monarchs 90th birthday this weekend.
If you wish to catch the event, but are not one of the few lucky people to attend, the ceremony will be broadcast live on BBC1.
