As a current Mothercare customer you may be feeling understandably concerned as to what will happen now Mothercare UK stores will start to close over the coming weeks and months. If you have purchased an iCandy product at a Mothercare store please be assured that you are covered and looked after by iCandy every step of the way, via a number of channels, including our industry-leading 5 year warranty to a range of repair and replacement services.

 

To cover some of the many questions you may have at this time, we have compiled a guide to take you through any of your queries and how iCandy can support you throughout this time.

 

Is Mothercare closing down?

Sadly, yes after nearly 60 years of trading, Mothercare will be officially shutting its doors in the UK. The Mothercare administration became public news in early November and will see the closure of 79 Mothercare stores nationwide.

 

When will Mothercare close?

There is no official closure date for Mothercare UK stores as of yet, but reports predict the multiple retailer will close all 79 UK stores by the end of 2019. Customers are advised to contact their local branch to find out when their nearest Mothercare store is planned to close.

 

Am I covered by an iCandy warranty even though I purchased my iCandy product through Mothercare?

Yes!

Feel rest assured, that how ever you purchase your iCandy pushchair, you are now covered by a 5 year warranty, valid on all products purchased from January 2019. Although your warranty officially moves over to iCandy when Mothercare ceases trading we will endeavour to handle all iCandy warranties active immediately. That means across the first 5 years of your warranty iCandy can repair, replace or refund any faulty product bought from Mothercare.

This warranty is designed to give parents complete peace of mind, and more time to focus on those special moments with family. The warranty is also transferable with proof of purchase, allowing consumers with a pre-loved iCandy to benefit in the future as well.

The iCandy MiChair also offers a staggering 10-year warranty - a testament to the design and engineering excellence that has become synonymous with our first highchair.

You don't need to do anything to activate any of your iCandy warranties - just keep hold of your proof of purchases and we look after the rest!

 

What happens if I am out of my 5-year warranty?

If you are not sure if your iCandy product is still in warranty, we may be able to assist you by checking products registered with us or verified with serial numbers alongside your proof of purchase. Please Contact Us if you would like assistance on this.

 If your iCandy product is out of warranty, we have a plethora of services that are designed to support you through any eventuality!

Is your iCandy pushchair in need of a little tender, love and care? If so, why not give it a new lease of life with an official iService or iCandy Handlebar Upgrade Service. Our dedicated team of technicians here at iCandy HQ will have your pushchair looking brand new in no time – allowing you to continue to enjoy your iCandy adventures to the maximum. There are various packages to choose from but as standard, all iServices include essential safety tests:

  • Checking the parking devices (brakes)
  • Checking all folding and locking mechanisms.
  • Checking the 5-point harness.

The iCandy MOT - All iCandy products are built to last!

Are you using your iCandy for a second or third child? Have you inherited your iCandy from a friend or family member? Maybe you’ve purchased it second hand? Why not give yourself some peace of mind with an official iCandy MOT test.

Your iCandy MOT will consist of a set of predetermined tests inspired by the European safety standards to ensure your pushchair is safe for continued use. The testing will concentrate on the following areas:

  • Restraint System (5-point harness),
  • Parking and Braking devices,
  • Stability (overall balance of the pushchair),
  • Structural Integrity,
  • Strength and durability of attachment devices.

 

Your MOT will also include:

  • Free collection and dispatch of your pushchair
  • Thorough initial inspection of your pushchair.
  • Replacement of any small components (nuts/bolts/bearings etc) that are missing or worn. These parts, if necessary, will be replaced before the MOT testing commences.
  • An official pass certificate on successful completion of the testing.
  • Basic valet.

You will also receive an exclusive 10% discount on any spare parts or accessories that are purchased while your pushchair is still at the iCandy service centre.
